Jolicloud 1.1 is no longer for a netbook
Jolicloud is a Linux-based operating system that is designed to the boundaries between desktop and Web applications that blur while adding a social layer of the software by you can see what your friends install apps. The project started as an operating system designed for netbooks – but today Jolicloud founder Tariq Krim announced that Jolicloud 1.1 is to expand his horizons with support for all types of desktop, notebook and tablet PCs.
Jolicloud includes the Google Chrome web browser (open source developer version of Chrome), and support for Adobe Flash. It has a sort of download App Store that allows you to install apps, or create desktop icons for Web applications like Google Mail or Facebook like on Lenovo Ideapad Z560. And it supports hardware graphics acceleration on some mobile devices – Krim says that a netbook with Intel Atom N550 processor and 1080p HD video playback and 720p HD video playback, YouTube handle. Most computer manufacturers only claim, notebooks with this chipset can handle 720p HD video, while Windows 7 . Jolicloud 1.1 also allegedly boots faster and the entire operating system load in 20 seconds or less on many computers.
