There’s plenty of power under the hood for the passionate gamers, while the Intel Core i5 processor offers high performance for your average consumer is. The graphical power here is enormous, and the latest games run as smoothly as you like with settings to high.

MSI GX740 Review

The distinctive design of the MSI GX740 notebook it’s not about style, sophistication and elegance – it is about power, speed and excitement.

His thick red interior and retro-futuristic design, you can immediately know that the MSI GX740 is a gaming-Machin, a powerful and mighty to do so.

The full-size keyboard has a numeric keypad with cursor keys and the Gamer’s home keys (W, A, S and D, marked) in red. Under the MSI GX740-keyboard sits a rather standard two-button touchpad, but also we have found what appears to be a kind of radiator grille and dashboard combo sporting looks that somehow manages to strike a balance between futuristic sci-fi and 50s Americana will strike.

The activation of these checks results in a large and attractive icon popping up on the MSI GX740-screen to make it clear exactly what you’re doing.

Gaming of course requires a lot of computing power, and the MSI GX740 comes with a 2.27GHz Intel Core i5-M430. Although a few found slower than the version in the Acer Aspire 8942G-526G64Bi and MacBook Pro laptops, and without the quad-core performance of HP Envy 15, which is still a very fast processor, the GX740 to 104 points in WorldBench 6 provide help.

The GMSI GX740 secret weapon, however, is the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 with 1GB of video RAM, which is by far the fastest graphics processor of the group, against his nearest rival of 10fps in our “very high quality Crysis test at 1366 x 768 pixels .

Unfortunately, the MSI GX740 notebook is also very power-hungry, just scratching at the two hour mark on Mobile Mark 2007 (129 minutes, 126 minutes for performance settings). This is about 20 minutes behind the short-lived HP Envy 15, although with a large 85Wh battery, equipped by the back of the case stands out.
