Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 Review
Kaspersky Lab have already delivered their 2011 Internet Security Suite. The expectations are high, such as Kaspersky was once a recommendation, but in the last 18 months it is struggling to compete with stellar detection rates the Avira and Norton.
At first glance, has not changed: from a selection of more than 300 current malware samples, Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 (KIS 2011) positively identified an impressive 96%, but A-List champ Norton hit 99% in 2010, with only Avira a hair behind at 98%.

But Kaspersky Suite 2011, a new ace up its sleeve. Although it is not held for all our rehearsals, that she did not know of unsigned and not generally to other Kaspersky Subscribers PCs were found, and they quietly marked as suspicious. If we actually tried, they run, and they began trying to dig their way into our system settings, the software correctly intervened and raised the alarm. There is a similar concept for the insight and SONAR 2 systems in Norton Internet Security in 2010, but there is no shame in that well, it would have more credibility than a perfect score is recognition.

Another new feature is “Run for safe Web sites”, based on the sandbox system for applications, which is building the first time appeared in the 2010 suite. Now you can set your browser in a protected mode – with a striking green border – that rogue processes to prevent snooping on the traffic and cache data. Tell the software the URL of your bank, and it is automatically a “secure” browser, whenever you go.
The others were added in 2011 much more prosaic, but could still be useful. A system rollback tool promises to make damage done by viruses reverse – potentially useful if the Windows system to blunt instrument Restore. A desktop gadget provides a status report at a glance, with two buttons that can be customized to provide instant access to your most frequently used parts of the interface. And an interesting addition is the GeoFilter that can automatically block connections from certain countries – Anticipating Cyber-invasions as yet unknown directions.

Although these supplements are all fine, they increase the complexity of what was already a very complete package, with configurable mail, firewall, web protection, identity protection, anti-spam, instant messaging and parental control modules. The developers have an apparent effort to simplify the user interface of last year’s eye-catching design, but if we look honestly, the new simple repetitive – while still a labyrinthine affair with tabbed drop-down lists, links and buttons all over the place (there are more than 40 different things you can do from the front wheel alone). Power users can enjoy the wealth of options and features to explore and play with, but certainly not the well-known acronym stand for “Keep It Simple”.
On the other hand, KIS 2011 will not be accused of not inflate in the conventional sense. On our test system with 3GB Windows 7 Ultimate on a Core i7-920 processors, the software has installed only three seconds to the boot time from a bare system, and raised the memory footprint of only 63MB – 80MB less than Norton.

Get the most out of this suite requires a measure of technical nous: the Safe Run Features, for example, are only useful if you know when to activate it, and its myriad possibilities would overwhelm beginners. You pay for performance: Norton Internet Security 2011, for example, is both simpler and cheaper.
But for those who use their security software is complex and configurable, Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 as a good choice. His signature scan may take only a bronze medal, but it makes up for that with the impressive heuristic, a small system footprint and the buttons and levers you could wish for.
