The Boston Marathon race past the $100 million mark in charitable dollars raised
It is the world’s oldest and most venerable annual race. But this year it is most charitable, too. The Boston Marathon expected to exceed 100 million U.S. dollars in total funds raised by the official charity program since it began in 1989. The Boston Marathon attracts a field of 26,750 runners, competitive, including the largest field of women ever this year (over 11,000), but need to be executed, the participants run in one of 400 qualifying marathons around the world.
