ASUS has announced that the Eee PC netbook 1015PW will soon be available with a 1.66 GHz Intel Atom N570 Dual Core processor.

Asus Eee PC 1015PW with Atom N570 update

The Eee PC 1015PW is the company’s latest 10-inch netbook with a 1024 x 600 pixel display, WiFi 802.11n, Bluetooth 3.0 and a 250GB hard drive. Until recently, the mini-notebook’s most distinguishing features are its woven pattern on the lid and the purple, gold and pink color options.

Now the notebook will be a first for a shiny new Atom N570 processor feature like on Hewlett Packard 8440P. Several netbooks from Lenovo and Samsung will soon be on the street with Atom N570 chip, and the Acer Aspire One AOD255E is already available with the new processor.

Honeycomb update for the Adam tablet

Ink notion might not have made the hardcore we hoped to sell their Pixel Qi, Tegra 2 tablet, but that does not mean they are going to disappoint people who bought the Adam. With a new round of funding they will be increasing their support staff team, which now apparently outnumber the developer team. If this is not to fix the concern about the after sales, I’m not sure what will! Even with this new found money that they should be establishing sales and support centers in the U.S. and then Germany and India.

Honeycomb update for the Adam tablet

In hardware news, Eden has been ported to Android 3.0 Honeycomb, and the concepts Ink developer team has to gaming. The design / UI / animation department is extensive as well as Hewlett Packard 8440P, and there is an official release of QuckOffice for Adam. Books for Adam is also on the road, but that once used to store the evidence is just not ready quite yet for Android 3.0. Whe we will see a device, the better, because they send their second shipment of tablets Adam I would not expect to see anything in the near future.

New Shuttle scraps GXT external graphics cards for Netbooks

Exactly one year ago at CeBIT 2010 netbook shuttle showed a rather boring, except for one feature – a GXT port like on Hewlett Packard 8440P. What is that? GXT is a port designed for connecting external graphics cards. They had a Radeon HD 4650 card set up alongside the netbook, but I do not think it was ready when it was due in the Autumn / Fall that year.

New Shuttle scraps GXT external graphics cards for Netbooks

Fast forward one year and we are here at CeBIT 2011 with a sad news – Shuttle scapped GXT. The cause? You can bet on the netbook market slow down and just less exciting today. In any case, the R & D budgets are cut and the development team responsible GXT was dissolved and merged with other teams. The focus is back to mini-PCs that their core business.

intendiX: a brain controlled laptop

At CeBIT 2011 this week, Guger Technologies showed their brains indendiX player machine – an electro-encephalogram (EEG) device that allows users with their minds. Using an electrode cap that detects brain waves of the head of the user and an amplifier that strengthens the waves to the machine, the intendiX determine which characters a user wants to type based on what they focus on.

intendiX: a brain controlled laptop

It was touted as a word output of 5-10 characters per minute after training, but the demonstration video shot by IDG, the user first 5 minutes it took to type only 3 letters. It’s not the fastest way of typing, would be a cripple or disabled people the ability to type like on Hewlett Packard 8440P. And we’re pretty sure after a few years of development will be improved by miles.

New Gigabyte GN-TB100 Dual Core Android Tablet

Back at CES Gigabyte has joined the game with the tablet S1080 featuring the Intel Atom N570 processor, capacitive touchscreen, and a suite of touch applications. As expected, they are also the Android game with the Gigabyte GN-TB100 join. It features a 10.1 inch, 1280 x 800 capacitive touch screen display and a dual core processor, NVIDIA Tegra 2. It is not due out until July, and this is certainly not their final prototype design means it has a fairly large screen border which I suspect will shrink by the time of the tablet goes on sale.

The prototype has 1 GB of RAM, up to 32 GB of storage and 802.11b/g/n WiFi like on ARCHOS 101 Tablet, Bluetooth 2.1 and 3G connectivity. It has a 5MP camera and a rear-facing 1.3MP camera on the front. And the display is an IPS screen like on , which should offer decent viewing angles.

For now the tablet running Android 2.2, but it will probably run Google Android 3.0 Honeycomb time hits the streets this summer.
