BModo12 The tablet features a 11.6 inch display, an Intel Atom N450 processor and a Broadcom Crystal HD Video Accelerator. It has a 32GB SSD, 802.11b/g/n WiFi. Bluetooth, an accelerometer and GPS. The tablet has a 27Whr battery and weighs just under 2.2 pounds.

If the tablet looks familiar that’s because it is based on the same design as the Slate ExoPC I recently reviewed. Both tablets were probably built by the same OEM. The main difference is in the software: The ExoPC ExoPC runs the custom UI layer on top of Windows 7, while the bModo12 has a few custom apps bModo Bossa Nova calls.

All Touch Tablet has posted a detailed overview of the bModo12, and the reviewer seems impressed with the hardware, software and pretty happy with the performance, and underwhelmed by 3 hours battery life and high price tag like on Lenovo IdeaPad U260. For $ 799 you can use the tablet with 1GB of RAM. $ 849 you get a 2GB version. And an optional docking station will set you back an additional $ 75.

With its magnesium alloy chassis, orange top and bottom, and soft leather palm rest, the world’s first 12.5-inch ultraportable executive combines sleek with casual cool. Design

The IdeaPad U260 has the kind of flair we had like Thinkpads. The lid comes in Clementine orange (our version) or Mocha Brown, and the design is made from a piece of magnesium-aluminum alloy that lends the notebook a feeling of smooth, minimal professionalism. Measuring just 0.7-inches thin and weighs one tenth of one pound more than the latest 2.9-pound Apple MacBook Air, the U260 slide so beautiful in bags and backpacks, it’s easy to forget the machine is there.

When the notebook is open, your eyes are quickly drawn to the LED status icons that are detected in alleviating dots, and your hands are attracted by the soft-textured leather palm rest. The U260 is left, right, front and sides, and the ring around the display, are upholstered in a smart-looking, polished black plastic.

Lenovo did not skimp when it came to the base of the notebook, either. Not only good frame material all the way around the notebook, but the rubber is on the bottom, give the U260 a slightly elevated and sloping footprint. Plus, the lower grilles, a fresh cut in serpentine mosaic pattern, add some pizazz.

Performance

The IdeaPad U260 packs a low-voltage Core i5 470UM CPU, integrated graphics, 4GB DDR3 RAM and a 320GB 5400-rpm hard drive. That hardware combination serrated on the PC Mark 3701 Vantage, a synthetic benchmark that measures overall performance. This score is well above machines, such as the AMD-powered HP Pavilion dm1z (2198). However, the Acer Aspire Timeline X1830T, a 11.6-inch ultraportable with a Core i7 processor and a price tag, scored 1.000 points higher. The slim Dell Vostro V130, which sells with a low-voltage CPU Core i5, notched 500 points more. The 11-inch MacBook Air notebook saves all of the above (4553).

In terms of real world use, the U260 is a capable multitasker. At one point we had to download Skype, editing a Word document, and playing an episode of Dexter in the background, all without any hiccups.

Lenovo says that the improved experience for Windows 7 for offering high boots. Our unit lasted 52 seconds, a little faster than average. The 5,400-rpm, 320 GB hard disk drive 4.976GB a folder of media files in 4 minutes and 3 seconds, about 30 seconds longer than the average of 3 minutes and 34 seconds.

Oxelon the benchmark, the U260 transcoded video in one minute and 51 seconds faster than the category average of two minutes and 23 seconds, but not so quickly the V130, the same task performed in one minute and 26 seconds. On another video transcoding benchmark it using Cyberlink Media Show Espresso media converter, the U260 finished 3 minutes and 11 seconds, more than one minute above the average for the category.

Software

Lenovo includes a handful of its own aid programs with U260. There is Lenovo direct her to share media from computers on your home network, providing Security Suite, smile Dock help new users purchase software and peripherals, and Veriface, a log-in tool for Windows that face lock uses. For about $ 900 dollars, 4 hours is not enough stamina for us.

In this price range, we prefer the 11-inch MacBook Air, which pairs Nvidia graphics with a longer battery life in a slimmer design. Or you could try the Acer Aspire TimelineX 1830T, not hold a candle to the design of the U260, but provides a faster Core i7 CPU and more time unplugged. Nevertheless, the IdeaPad U260 makes a fashion statement and backs it up with lots of speed and comfort.

Acer has said it will invest more money in bringing tablets on the market, but not at the expense of the netbook lineup. The allegation comes after one of the Taiwan-based company sales managers erroneously said the company was planning on phasing out in favor of netbooks tablets (being affectionately “cannibalism” labeled by the tech industry), because the tablet market the food was too large chunk in the netbook sales (a view also held by Apple).

No word yet on when the new tablet will be available or how much it will cost, but Amazon is selling the tablet without a contract for 329 pounds. We are waiting to hear what the three packages that the new tablet will be available on.

The Microsoft online store is now pre-orders for Windows-based tablet ASUS, the Eee Slate EP121. The tablet is selling for $ 1,099 and if you scratch, it will start shipping on January 24. ASUS has a new netbook with the launch of the Eee PC netbook 1015PW Sirocco. It’s actually a 1015PW netbook with a new paint job structure to make it look cooler. It comes with a 1.5GHz Intel Atom N550 Dual Core processor, 1GB DDR3 RAM, and your choice of a 320 or 250GB hard drive.

Some other features include a 10-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, Bluetooth 3.0 like on HP Compaq 6005 Pro Desktop PC and integrated 802.11 b / g / n WiFi. Unfortunately there are no details on pricing or availability yet.

HP Compaq 6005 Pro Small Form Factor PC – yes, that’s her full name – is about as big as a compact system as its name is long. This system is relatively common, all-black case reflects the simplicity of the components and feature list. You’re not getting a lot of computing with the 6005 high explosive grenade to save the processing speed.

But the 6005 offers one of the better price / performance trade-offs on the PC price chart. The price seems too much for a system that is not packaged in a standard mini tower case, but the 6005 plays within the domain of the top of the category systems in performance, for rest of the specs get left in the dust.

All this magic happens as a result of the 6005 is powerful brains, a 3.0 GHz AMD Phenom X4 processor II B95 that appeals to an included 4GB DDR3 memory. It is a powerful combination that is not really the top dog in the value PCs category, but it does not have to be.

Tested with a WorldBench 6 score of 128, this system beats out any other compact system on the PC graphics and Price does a great job of delivering better overall performance than most relatively priced (or higher) value desktops. The only exception is Micro Express Microflex 75B, a minitower system a score of 132. It is this machine that will forever lock in the 6005′s side.

Graphically, the 6005 is not playable frame rates to deliver in Unreal Tournament benchmark at a resolution of the test using the typical high quality settings. The Microflex 75B, on the other hand, spit 82 frames per second at the highest tested resolution of 2560 x 1200 – one of the better scores on the PC Price chart to date.

If the 6005 is designed primarily for speed, it only supports a sufficient number of external connections. The system is back home to six USB slots, a Gigabit Ethernet port, a DisplayPort connector and a VGA output. Four USB ports grace the system front, making her only DisplayPort connector is the only advanced feature on the entire rig. (Unlike the Microflex 75B’s smorgasbord of connections offer blows the 6005 out of the water with a huge, satisfying splash.)

The 6005′s chassis is ho-hum for her monochromatic look, but it is not easy to open up to reveal an interior packed. There are no additional hard drive bays than what’s already occupied by the system included DVD burner, 84GB solid-state boot disk, and 300GB storage drive.

For what it’s worth, this means poor storage 150GB beat the Microflex 75B of capacity. As for upgrading, you can fit an extra PCI card and PCI x16, x1 and two PCI cards in the 6005′s interior – you might want to opt for a video card instead, but that’s just my voice.

The included keyboard and mouse are basic, generic, or even wireless (how nice would be a good system that could sit on a shelf or entertainment center). That said, the 6005 is a bit overpowered for a Media Center PC. Given the low number of connections and jacked-up speeds, the 6005 Pro is more a replacement for a standard desktop than anything else.

If the size is the overriding factor for your next to buy, you are not going to a faster, “smaller” value than the HP Compaq 6005 PC Pro found. However, you can improve performance, extensive connectivity options, more upgradability, and the actual gaming opportunities to achieve lower costs with Micro Express Microflex 75B. This is a large order to pass up because you have a system with a low profile.

The Japanese company, PC-Koubou has named its new notebook PC Koubou Lesance BTO CLG669 TYPE GXR. This notebook is powered by a 2.2 GHz Core i7 2720QM quad-core processor (Intel Sandy Bridge platform) and it is preinstalled with Windows OS 7 Professional.

The PC-Koubou Lesance BTO CLG669 GXR-TYPE has a 15.6-inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, GeForce GTX 485m graphics accelerator with 2GB memory, 16GB RAM like on HP Mediasmart EX490, 500GB hard drive, HDMI and DVI output for an external monitor or TV. Acer add to the growing list of companies with new tablets in the pipeline. The Taiwanese computer manufacturer has announced plans to release both a 7-inch and 10-inch tablet in 2011. The new tablets are meant to gradually replace the company’s line of notebook computers, said sales manager, Acer Taiwan Bing Lu Hsian. “That is the direction of the market,” Lu told Computerworld. The company will still continue to produce netbooks,HP Mediasmart EX490 but will begin phasing out its range of notebook models, while production of the new line of tablets.

The tablets running the Android OS (version unspecified) on a new line Intel’s quad-core processors Sandy Bridge. The move to Sandy Bridge, Acer focuses on the many Nvidia Tegra 2-powered smartphones and Tablet PC announced earlier this month at CES outmuscle. Acer’s Lu declined to establish price points and specific release dates for the new tablet offering.

It’s a huge shift for Acer, a company that has sold tens of millions of netbooks on the last ten years and drew on the ultra-portable netbook as an essential part of its business strategy to date. The announcement comes on the heels of a recent Gartner report on worldwide PC sales that Acer 2010 with 1.9 percent growth over 2009 shows.

“Media Tablets undoubtedly intensified competition in the consumer market,” said Gartner analyst Mikako Kakagawa in the report. “These devices do not replace primary PCs, as they are seen as good enough for these devices who want a second and third connected component for content-consumption uses. Mini-notebook shipments were most affected by the success of the media tablets. ”

Again, this is not the first tablet we’ve seen from Acer. After selling the company’s 11.2-inch convertible tablet notebook combo fizzled upon arrival in May 2010, Acer he ended after only a few short months. Acer’s tablet range seem also position the company completely opposite of just one year ago when Acer Taiwan president Scott Lin said the company had no plans to release a tablet option to pursue, and that the iPad would be unlikely that the netbook market impact.

“Apple has built [its] business out of carving his own niche,” Lin told DigiTimes last February, “which means that while Apple could see success with devices like the iPad, other players are probably unable to results replicate just by copying. ” Tablet sales overall are robust, with industry analysts estimate Apple’s 2010 holiday sales iPad somewhere in the range of 5 to 7,000,000 units, and Samsung’s Galaxy Tab hit the one million sales mark in early December. The market is expected to continue to grow because many of the dozens of tablets we saw at CES their way to shelves this year.
