Excellent machine!

This review is for: HP Pavilion dv6-3010us

I bought this unit two weeks ago to save from the office to the stadium, where the Lakers play named. The tech manager, recommended on the basis of the specifications, price and the fact that the LightScribe laser, the firmware upgrade to the new color and a LightScribe DVD burner that could easily be a TV for about $ 99 through HP directly, it could be replaced was when I wanted. It can also lead to 8 GB of RAM, not what you can do all newer notebooks ... many will still be upgraded with 4GB max. They had had it on sale for $ 200 off the list price, then I a $ 50 off any computer coupon, $ 50 for the trade in an 8 year old desktop, and it is a $ 50 rebate for those who to find. At this price, I thought, "what the heck, I really did not need that Core i5 have so much I do?"

Wow, now that I owned it for a while, I'm impressed. This device is easy for a 15.6 "lappie and runs cool, I get almost 4 hours on the std battery (6 + hours on a recently purchased 9-cells) and it is quick and easy. It took a while get used to the keyboard (PS trying to emulate Apple here ... island style without numpad) and the touchpad is a challenge, at least until the beginning (back in the Apple emulation, but I was ....):, love how easy it is to turn off the touchpad and with the integrated Bluetooth ... something you do not find all the time in these Lappies ... it's just a Bluetooth mouse, and away you go. Internet connection is large, with the device smacking my head on Dell Netbook .... anywhere in our house

Typically, their HP installed bloatware, but that can be easily fixed. As others have reported, are the USB ports a little tight, but I have had no problems with them at all. I love the new "champagne" color, having no fingerprints at all compared to their previous units shows. I would have preferred the AC port on the back will take the right, but I can work around this problem. The speakers sound for a low end lappie great ... would like to have a little more volume at the top but, what the hell ....

The screen is bright and resolution image quality for a low end lappie-excellent. Built-in webcam is OK, but I would have preferred a higher resolution, but made up for the built-in Bluetooth for more than this as I use the Bluetooth more. The AMD dual-core proc with premium ATI graphics is a workhorse and it does the job well. A high-end gamer machine? Nope ... What do you expect for that price?

Not sure about those that rating is bad. You must've been a bad unit because I am very happy to get, especially for the price.

Recommended, especially when the price down, as I get.
