Gateway DX4840-15 is almost identical to the Gateway DX4831-03. Both systems have the DX Intel Core i5-650 processor, 8 GB of DDR3 RAM and a 1TB hard drive. They share the same chassis, too. So what’s different? The two biggest changes are with the optical drive and networking. The DX4840-15 has a standard DVD burner and built-in 802.11n Wi-Fi, while the DX4831-03 lacks Wi-Fi, but is a DVD burner and a Blu-ray reader. So, take your choice: Wi-Fi or Blu-ray? No matter your choice, you end up with a well-designed, powerful PC for the price.

There are a few other small differences between these two models similar to Gateway. The DX4840-15 has a slight upward trend with the graphics card and offers the NVIDIA GeForce GT 320 with the older GeForce GT 220 in the DX4831-03. (Although is capable enough, neither card is a pleasure object for serious players.) And the DX4840-15 is missing FireWire, eSATA and digital audio ports, which may be found on the DX4831-03. With the SX2311-03 Budget Desktop PC, Gateway jumps in the crowded compact PC market. The MSI P600-019 is not wow you with groundbreaking design and impresses with cutting-edge features. Open the lid of P600′s, and you’ll find a bright 15.6-inch display. The screen is LED-backlit display helps colors pop and photos that look particularly great. This is not just about the average for the class, but also beats competitors like the $ 699 Lenovo IdeaPad G560 (5,059) and MSI own FX600 (5380). The P600 also had a strong presence at our 64-bit Cinebench 10 test, all the available CPU cores of the taxes. It scored 7176 in this test, compared to 6580 for the IdeaPad G560.

The P600 also proved to be above average for multimedia tasks. The machine requires only 4 minutes and 7 seconds for our Windows Media Encoder test, a 3-minute video clip to DVD format complete convert. The P600 comes with some handy pre-installed software. It comes equipped with 64-bit Windows 7 Home Edition, the Media Center environment for playing DVDs, videos, music, and contains photos. The machine also includes MSI’s S-Bar utility, a customizable dock that you can launch applications, web sites, or files with a single click. The utility is with moorings for Entertainment (Windows Media Center, Windows Media Player, Solitaire, etc.) and tools (calculators, Snipping Tool, Audio Recorder, Internet Explorer) already built and you can add your own links to these or Create up to three separate issues docks from scratch. Our only complaint is that unlike similar docks we’ve seen from HP and Sony, you can not add links by simply drag & drop the icons in the dock. With the S-Bar, you must use the “Settings” to enter the links manually. We also like the MSI easy viewer, a fancy photo viewer that shows the photos from a selected folder in a 3D array, you click a picture, and it catches the foreground. Few companies have done so much to advance the popularity of all-in-one PC designs such as HP (with the possible exception of Compaq and HP, which was acquired long before the company). While the HP Pavilion MS225 not found all the sexy features in HP’s more expensive TouchSmart series, it is not equipped with a touchscreen, obvioulsy, but it is a much better value than some of the other cost all-in-one PCs we’ve seen in lately. Features and Design

Simply put, the difference in HP’s component decisions. A number of manufacturers have chosen to use cost CPUs like Intel’s Atom series, to hold down costs. This election is, with only one or two gigabytes of memory coupled keeps low price tags, but it also leads to unpleasant performance and usability compromises. HP Pavilion MS225 could never offer at only $ 600 without, and their own plunge into the bargain bin, but at least it comes with a fully-fledged desktop CPU: AMD Athlon X2 250U is running at a modest 1.6 GHz.
