New Envy 17 with 3D, New Envy with 14 Beats Edition
HP notebook updates today with a pair of special versions of its Envy notebooks. At the top of the mix is the envy of 17 3D, the first true 3D notebook from HP, it has a 120Hz, 1080p display, which combined with active shutter glasses to create works on a stereoscopic 3D image. It is as a film-focus system and is seen app with both a Blu-ray drive and a new version of its Media Smart, that 3D movies can be played.
The system is an upgrade of the Envy 17 for 2D, because it has a higher color gamut than usual, and an integrated 2.1-channel audio system beats and up to 2TB of storage on two drives. There is a selection of Quad-Core i7 chips and Mobility Radeon HD 5850 video and should ship by the holidays. HP is not obligated to a price, but it will be the Special Edition bundle with a 3D version of NBA 2010 All-Star Game, and a similar upgrade to a trailer for the future of DreamWorks film Megamind.
The 14.5-inch Envy 14 has been given the treatment and Beats Edition comes in the same black and red color scheme, up to the red keyboard light. Accordingly, it is fitted with beats audio hardware, but also comes packed with beats solo in-ear headphones. HP is providing more detailed information on the smaller laptop and there are dual-core chips i5 between 2.53 GHz and 2.8 GHz, at least 4 GB RAM, Mobility Radeon HD 5650 video, a 640GB, 7,200 rpm hard drive and, a battery good for a maximum 6.5 hours of battery life.
Buyers can view the Envy 14 beats Edition today, with its base trim costs $ 1250. Retail transactions, the beats get version sometime in the fall.
