Samsung X460 Review
Samsung produced many highly-portable notebooks in the sub- 799 category. The Samsung X460 is a departure from this, and is a halo-looking products to take the brand upscale.
The most striking aspect is just how thin the front of the chassis is wedge-shaped. is, together with the ultra portable 1.9 kg weight, it is the ideal notebook for a life on the road, its 14.1-inch screen proved as practical and offers good usability.
The 1280 x 800 pixels of resolution can not the sharpest we have seen, but it is more than good enough to display a couple of windows simultaneously. The color reproduction is excellent, making this an excellent choice for photo and video editing.
Despite the slim-line chassis, 3D performance is equally capable. It is a mid-range Nvidia graphics card instead, which this laptop is on a par with much larger machines. It’s not enough power for the latest games, but we found it coped with older titles in order.

The production quality is somewhat mixed. The quality shines outside the machine, helped by a brushed aluminum insert. Unfortunately, this does not perform to the interior, where you can find uses the same glossy black plastic in a much cheaper Samsung models. Although attractive, it picks up fingerprints too easily and lack the high-end feel of the competing products.
The keyboard is a completely new design for Samsung, with a similar style, found on the latest Sony and Apple laptops. Here are the keys protrude through the holes in the chassis, making it easy to enter at speed without accidentally on the surrounding keys. The quality is excellent, with a quiet but respond typing action.
Within the housing a mid-range Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 processor. Together with 3072MB of RAM, it equips the X460, a number of tasks with ease shipping. The system runs smoothly at all times, with very little lag. Battery life proved even more impressive, lasting for 285 minutes.

Corporate users love to see the latest networking features, Ethernet with 802.11n Wi-Fi and Gigabit Ethernet. Bluetooth is available for wireless data transmission, but 3G HSDPA connectivity is omitted. Rapid will log-ins made possible, constructed with an integrated fingerprint reader and a webcam for video conferencing. A full complement ports include three USB ports for adding peripherals, and both VGA and HDMI interfaces.
If you do not mind the cost, the Samsung X460 is a very impressive machine. It may not have the premium feel of other high-end laptops, but his excellent skills and amazing agility make him one of the best 14.1-inch machine that we have seen so far.
