Rumor: Ubuntu 10.10 to come with MultiTouch gestures
Canonical, the maker of the user-friendly Linux operating system Ubuntu, today announced that Ubuntu would be 10.10 Multi-Touch gesture support by default.
This is good news for fans of the Linux operating system had to work on their own solutions or third-party tools to have enjoyed the same multi-touch mouse support, OSX and Windows users will need to bring. Works best on new Dell Inspiron iM501R-2272MRB. To pull this off uTouch Canonical provides a framework to support multi-touch mouse pads. The framework is best mouse pads that touch four fingers and instead support a gesture at a time, the development team wants to allow users to string together gestures to manage more complex tasks.
Ubuntu 10.10 is for release on 10 October 2010 10:10:10 set or as indicated on the loving gestures announcement page. Ubuntu unlike the Quicken Home & Business 2010 is a free operating system that will run on most laptops and netbooks, often in addition to Windows. When released, you can try Ubuntu without installing it by using a live CD image or to boot from a USB drive.
