Asus U43JC-X1 Review
Recently launched, the 14-inch Notebook Asus U43Jc-X1 part of the company Bamboo series of laptops. The Asus laptop – the one Intel Core-i5 processor and Nvidia GeForce 310M graphics – mainly to people who are interested in a sport style statement.
Design
The Asus U43Jc-X1 laptop has a characteristic bamboo screen lid – the wood is darker hue to the previous Bamboo Series notebook we reviewed in comparison with the Asus U6V. The Asus Bamboo Finish U43Jc’s screen cover is smooth and not winning fingerprints. The bamboo area extends to the laptop palm rest and touchpad.
The U43Jc-X1 laptop has Bamboo-like steel accents, along the screen and the chassis side – not so pronounced, but similar to the HP Pavilion dm3 laptop. The Asus U43Jc-X1 has good construction quality and weighs 2.4 kg with an eight-cell battery – pretty good for a 14-inch laptop.

Usability
The Asus Bamboo U43Jc-X1 laptop comes with a 14-inch LED-backlit glossy widescreen display supports a widescreen resolution of 1366×768 pixels and 16:9. The laptop screen is not as bright as the Acer Aspire TimelineX 4820TG laptop screen, but it is evenly lit and has good viewing angles. The Asus laptop has a 2MP webcam U43Jc at the top of its bezel, which comes with its own sliding dust – the webcam is good for video chats on Skype.
The Asus Bamboo Laptop U43Jc-X1 has a less than ideal keyboard and touchpad. The laptop sports a different keyboard layout and design in comparison to other Asus laptops – the keyboard deck has a brushed metallic finish. The U43Jc’s keyboard has well-distributed chiclet-styled keys, to take the time to get used to – for example, enter key is overlooked far too small and light. The keyboard would have been a bit wider than it once was. The Asus laptop U43Jc-X1 palmrest touchpad and mouse buttons have a bamboo layer. Because bamboo is not the touchpad surface of optimal feedback, I think. Even the laptop’s single-strip mouse buttons are clunky and at times far from perfect.
Hardware Specifications and Features
The Asus Bamboo Laptop U43Jc-X1 came with a 14-inch screen and IntelCore-i5-450M 2.4 GHz processor with Turbo Boost (support up to 2.66GHz). The laptop also has 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a 500GB hard drive, Intel GMA and Nvidia GeForce 310M HD graphics. The Asus laptop U43Jc-X1 supports NVIDIA graphics Optimus switching technology, enabling intelligent management graphics depending on the program or task at hand – it’s automatic and you do not have to do one thing.
The laptop has three USB ports – one of which is a super-speed USB 3.0 connection – HDMI, VGA, card reader slot, Gigabit Ethernet, audio jacks and a tray-loading DVD burner. Wireless connectivity standards such as Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1 are also featured on the Asus laptop U43Jc-X1. The Asus Bamboo Laptop comes with U43Jc very good internal hardware, but the included Nvidia graphics could’ve been better. However, the laptop is very upgrade-friendly, easily accessible memory slots and hard drive.

Performance
The Asus Bamboo Laptop U43JcX1 slew very well in our synthetic benchmarks. A WorldBench 6112 score effectively raises him of our Top 5 Mainstream laptops at Rs 50,000. The Asus U43JcX1, most of the processor and memory intensive tasks to tackle and look comfortable with the laptop for daily use – such as surfing the web, movies, work productivity suite, etc. – is a snap.
Gaming on the Asus U43Jc-X1 is not as exciting, but. Far Cry 2 – at 1366×768, DirectX 10-mode, high settings, 2xAA – was not at all smooth. At low settings and low expectations, the Asus Bamboo Laptops U43JcX1 discrete Nvidia GeForce 310M graphics are at best good for casual gaming – nothing more. But now both 720p and 1080p HD video went well on the Asus Bamboo U43Jc-X1 laptop, with a good audio-visual experience.
With onboard graphics, Intel GMA HD, took the 14-inch laptop Eight-cell battery 1 hour 37 minutes in our synthetic test battery – almost as good as the Acer Aspire 4820T TimelineX. On a conservative plan battery, while only surfing the Web via Wi-Fi expect just over three hours and 30 minutes on the Asus Bamboo laptop U43Jc-X1 - this low Asus U43Jc taken given eight-cell battery.

Bottom Line
As far as laptops go, the Asus U43Jc-X1 is definitely a style statement with lid and bamboo screen palmrest. The device was tested comes with excellent hardware and features – even a USB 3.0 port and a Quick-Start OS, most laptops do not have. It also has Nvidia Optimus for a smooth, efficient switching graphics and management, and performs very well.
But his less-than-perfect keyboard and touchpad spoiled the overall experience of the otherwise commendable laptop. But looking for a unique laptop can buy the Asus Bamboo laptop U43Jc with an Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB RAM DDR3, 500GB hard drive, and discrete Nvidia GeForce 310M graphics.
