The Asus UL20FT is a 3.3 laptop with a 12.1 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display. First discovered in May, it looks like the new model will start next month. Excaliber PC taking preorders for the Asus UL20FT-A1. It is to go for $ 579, and says the store should arrive around 6 August 2010.

The new Asus notebook is a successor of the Asus UL20A, which I reviewed last year. While the two laptops are pretty much the same size and the two ships with Windows 7 Home Basic, 2 GB RAM, 250 GB hard drives, there is one crucial difference. The Asus UL20A comes with an Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 processor CULV, while the UL20FT has a new 1.2GHz Intel Core i3-330UM CPU.

I have not had the chance to test a system with the Core-i3 330UM CPU yet, but it should be a bit of a speed boost and consumes less memory available like the ASUS Eee PC 1000HE.

Rounding out the specifications for the new notebooks are three USB ports, microphone and headphone ports, a 0.3MP webcam, a 5-in-1 card reader, 802.11b g n WiFi and Gigabit Ethernet. The laptop comes with a 6-cell, 4400mAh battery and measures 11.8″ x 8.4″ x 1″.

Toshiba’s ultra portable T200 series from AMD/Intel powered notebook computers, including the 11.6″ and 13.3 T215″ T235, both will soon be available in the U.S..

The 11.6″ T215 comes with AMD Athlon Neo II alone or dual-core CPUs, integrated graphics from ATI, and up to 320GB HDD and 2GB RAM. The ultra-portable Toshiba notebook weighs a mere 3.3 pounds. The larger 13.3″ T235 will come with AMD Athlon or Turion II Neo Neo II processors, though it is also a choice of Intel Pentium Dual-Cores. It is up to a pack of 320GB HDD and 4GB RAM, and weighs only 3.9 pounds just like Toshiba Satellite A665-S6056.

Both notebooks have an HD 1366×768 display. They are in the U.S. Available in June at 20th.
