Dell Inspiron 1464
By Damien-tt (Couva, Trinidad & Tobago)
This review is for: Dell Inspiron i1464-4382OBK
Pros:
- Extremely light for its size
- Runs much cooler than other notebooks in its class (and given the processor it has)
- Easy to transport
- Has all the basic connections you need
- Robust and durable
- Sweet, slim design with glossy looks
- Very, very reasonable for the price
Cons:
- No Bluetooth (if you really need it, why)
- Bad partitioning (C'mon Dell, 50GB + for Windows and the rest as D drive?). Fortunately, comes with the system restore disc format (OS and drivers) as easy and the partition that you want to like.
Comments:
As the previous owner of an HP TX tablet notebook that died I needed something fast to take my college work again. It had to be easy, yet strong, with decent graphics and memory and also with wired and wireless connectivity. My research turned up the Acer Aspire 3820 and the Dell Inspiron 1464th While I was fascinated with the Acer was, it was not available at Amazon as before, and I had no idea of the costs. Dell was the nimble small and even though I do a great price! I have only had about six days, but I must say I'm impressed. It handles modern games and HD movies very well (kudos to Intel for the integrated graphics), multi-tasking is a breeze (thanks to the Intel Core processor i3), is not running, hot, whatever stress I have it by , easy on the eyes (in terms of look and reading), a 250GB hard drive (which I opted for this, other models ship with a 500GB) and the price is pretty good. I should however say that the bright future, while sexy, is in fact a fingerprint magnet and it would be best off acquiring one of these micro fiber cloths to make it shiny. Other than that, it is a great purchase and one I highly recommend.
