When my older HP laptop with 17" screen gave me trouble, I began looking for a replacement. (It is no longer recognized DVDs, end the communication with the printer, and only really started to annoy me. exhausted Too many nights, trying to work on it in order to do it for the basics.) granted the HP was awesome with most of the bling-factor, a TV tuner card, two remotes, LightScribe, all you ever in a laptop or a desktop for that matter need. So when I began reading, I knew what I used and was really important to me. I on a 15" screen at work to work, I knew I wanted one really large monitor, has not yet mean that a desktop. Portability was very important, but weight was not. Although I sit on the couch with my computer a lot, it was not as heavy as my lap dog that weighs 65 pounds! I can say that the computer is not hot at all, even if it sits on my lap. The fan is surprisingly quiet. Remember, the battery life is short. Fortunately, I have about a lot of outlets!
I was not really sure about Windows 7, I was improved from Windows XP. However, I like it, especially the new features in Windows Media Center. This software is user friendly and has some nice features for everyone.
One of the guests complained about the fingerprints. This computer does show fingerprints. It is a problem, but almost all laptops have it. But say, I must say that I absolutely love the feeling of the keys in comparison to all other laptops (4) I own. The size of the buttons are very generously sized. I have small hands, but I think these keys would accommodate most people. Plus, they are silky smooth to touch.
One of the most important features for me was similar to LightScribe technology. Toshiba uses Labelflash is similar. These allow you to DVDs and CDs with labels that are actually printed on the disc itself, not create a paper label. Although I still have a burn actually seem software to use relatively simple. LabelFlash discs are not available at my local Wal-Mart, so keep that work before you start on a project.
All in all I am very much satisfied with this computer, especially on its highly competitive price. It is the most important things on my checklist and more and more! BTW, commented on some reviews, the search for a case was hard. Please note that I found a nice case for a very reasonable price, excluding taxes and shipping costs. I have a case for my computer and Flip Ultra HD for about $ 50.00. Bargain!
