HP Compaq nc6400
My first impressions of the nc6400 were rather negative, because of its rather drab, appearance, and in fact its specification – no one’s fingerprint or smart card reader needs for private use. But after using the nc6400, I was quickly seduced by it’s boring, but worthy of stimuli.
The nc6400 is a medium sized notebook – it is not headline grabbingly small or excessively large. HP laptops are so, so that you, yes, you are using named it on your lap, but all too often manufacturers seem to forget. The real test was open and use it on the train – it felt just right in terms of size and weight used. At 2.3 kg, it’s no featherweight, but it is to slip still in practice in a shoulder bag and take it with you for the day. HP Compaq nc6400 Review

Puts the Me in Mediocre

Pros: Fingerprint reader, USB ports on both sides
Cons: Screen, Keyboard
I have the nc6400 with a little more than a year and not all that impressed.
The good:
The performance is good, it seems to help the dual-processor, a good deal for heavy processing. The fingerprint scanner is a nice toy. I like having USB ports on both sides of the computer.
The Average:
This laptop is a bit thick on the side (like the one that, unlike Thinkpad) replaced. Battery life has suffered for a year and I'm up to about 1 hour at minimum screen brightness.
The Bad:
Power Supply - HP changed the power supply to a certain point in time, and it is impossible to a 3rd party power supply that can work with this thing! Mine, when I was in the street and I SOL burned for about four days, until I stop one of the docking station could get PS. I'm not sure why they change that, but the slightly older HP's work well with 3rd party adapters manufactured.
Screen - The screen works well and is nice for movies but not for professional use. Since this is a "business" PC, which is extra wide and mostly worthless, if the programming, reading documents and surfing. You get sick of constant scrolling.
Keyboard - The keyboard has a poor tactile feedback and it takes some getting used to Goofy layout. I can not count how many documents I've accidentally deleted when it reaches the Page button. This process takes about a month to get used to.
Overall, this is a slightly below-average laptop. The hardware failures that I experienced the power adapter and the SD card slot was.
