Glad I do not wait for the IPAD by Apple ...

By M. Harrison (California)

This review is for: ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1005PE-PU17

I wanted to wait until that review was only after the new Apple IPAD released today to see how to write it in comparison. I'm glad I do not wait until the 1005PE buy from Asus! So far I am very happy with all the same things the rest of the guests are happy with and kinda bummed about are bummed about the same things the other. (Fingerprints)

The netbook is basically an upgrade to my 32GB iPod Touch, which is on my bedside table. I used the Touch for Web surfing and media to see, but now I have this great little netbook that has everything the iPod Touch has not done for me, plus there is a ton more storage capacity (250GB compared to 32GB) 13-ish hours of battery life (compared to 3-5 on the touch), and it supports Adobe Flash-standard! (Something that the new IPAD by Apple does not seem to do ...) All in all I am very satisfied with the 1005PE and have no regrets after the unveiling of the new Apple today by IPAD. I am sure that the 1005PE is not a perfect substitute for the IPAD to all users, but for me, I could not be happier with my purchase.

One thing to note, as already reported, you would like to receive the 800 MHz RAM upgrade from Crucial, not the 667 MHz, the 1005PE on the Amazon product page lists. I have the upgrade and noticed that things are still upbeat, but the 1GB RAM module that came out of 1005PE, was 800 MHz memory clock speed of 667 MHz is not ...

For the person that this netbook has a star because he could not be greater than 1024 x 768 external VGA output, while the reflection of the internal monitoring, which is pretty weak in my opinion. Given all the other features offered by this netbook for so little cost, I think the netbook is a real winner! Thanks for reading my posts!
