I am generally satisfied with this laptop. There seems to be solidly constructed. I use it as a desktop replacement and do not care about portability or battery life. The integrated Intel GMA HD graphics is also working with video. I do not know gaming performance.

Make sure you use the SW. 64-bit Quad-Core and do nothing, unless your software was written to exploit them. Video of the rule does not benefit from that site. I have VLC media player for almost everything and not the current version.

If you have not used a laptop with the touchpad off-center, and separate numeric keypad, you should go into a store and try before you buy. I have difficulties to adjust with my old 4:3, 15.6" display. If you use the laptop on your lap, you will of course center of the screen before you plan leading to a longer reach for your right hand on the keys at home. This criticism applies to the larger screen laptops in general.

Pro:

  • Outstanding performers for my purposes.
  • Excellent display.
  • disable touchpad key is a good idea. I previously downloaded Touch Freeze, move the cursor jumps to avoid when entering.
  • Except for the memory card reader, all ports on the sides.
  • I like the matte finish interior surfaces.

Con:

  • In general, the user interface is could be improved. Each of these complaints are features of many other laptops.
  • Major keys of the keyboard are completely flat so many more typos. If I do not do better, I'll go back to my old Dell for Office applications. When trying to write this, I have the Caps Lock hit instead of "a" at least 10 times.
  • Minor Separate Delete, Home, Page Up, Page Down, End not in the traditional locations, so I do not turn on the Num Lock and use the numeric keypad.
  • Minor touch pad is not as good as my previous Dell. I like it better if there was a niche.
  • I will probably never get used to the touchpad buttons fixed in the middle. You have to press the outer end of the touchpad. I find this awkward.
  • Glossy exterior of the case shows fingerprints.
  • I use the arrow keys to separate a lot, and they are very small.
  • No recovery CDs.

I skipped Vista to Windows 7, a major jump for me from XP. So far I do not see the point, but it has remained stable. Look closely, almost everything is because of XP, only disguised. Maybe someday I'll find something new that it's more than just a way for Microsoft to make more money. As much as I fear it could be the implementation of architecture cloud the end of this BS of the change of the interface with each revision of the SW. I hate to fight, to the things that they move to find with each revision.
