The HP Pavilion dv7-3180us ($ 1,449.98 list) is a high-end quad-core desktop replacement. It is probably the most expensive laptop you can take at your local Staples will. The big networks will price-performance components, including the Intel Core i7 can 720QM-processor and NVIDIA GeForce GT 230M video card, the accomplishment of challenging tasks like video editing and 3D games. It features a Blu-ray drive and HD video looks fantastic on the 17.3-inch widescreen display. A built-in subwoofer helps increase the laptop’s audio output. We have the almost identical HP Pavilion dv7-3080us ($ 1,449.98 list) at the end of last year and the only upgrade of a bigger hard drive. If you play 3D games and need a Blu-ray drive, you can create a suitable desktop replacement for less money.

Along the front edge is a microphone jack and two headphone jacks. The optical drive can read Blu-ray discs and write to DVDs and CDs. It also features HP LightScribe technology, which allows you to laser-etch images onto specially coated CDs and DVDs.

Design The chassis of the Pavilion dv7-3180us is identical to that of his predecessor. It has the usual HP Imprint design on the lid and is highlighted with chrome edges. It has an aspect ratio of 16:9 and a 1600 by 900 native resolution, is the norm for a 17-inch display, but 180 horizontal lines away from the situation to 1080p HD video display.
The laptop provides audio-video output to the game. It has a pair of Altec Lansing stereo speakers, but also adds a subwoofer on the bottom of the laptop. Performance

It turned in impressive performance in PC Labs test scores, but the gap between Quad-Core and Dual-core performance to our Apps has with the arrival of Core i5-based laptops to shrink. Our image processing benchmark tests, Cinebench R10 and Photoshop CS4 showed greater gains for the Pavilion dv7-3180us, where his four processor cores have been better used. The midrange NVIDIA GeForce GT 230M graphics card, scored the dv7-3180us solid 3D gaming scores.

Rarely has a laptop measure up to its manufacturer’s battery life claims. The HP Pavilion dv7-3180us is one of the few exceptions. HP claims to be up to 4 hours 15 minutes battery life of the 8-cell (73WHr) battery, and we have 4 hours 3 minutes on MobileMark 2007. This is an impressive time for a big, power-hungry desktop replacement.
Although I am disappointed that HP will not upgrade the CPU or graphics in the HP Pavilion dv7-3180u, is a rounded, high-end desktop replacement that I recommend for serious enthusiasts and media professionals, along with players and Blu -ray fans those who will make their power and functions. More mainstream buyer looking for a great laptop to some of the dough by opting for a Core i5-based desktop replacement, saving instead.
