Lenovo S10-3t Review

To make the upgrade as part of the Lenovo S10 Netbook Series, which 3t changes the whole design, the addition of a swivel touch screen display, the netbook into a convertible tablet.

The multi-touch display on the Lenovo S10-3T is capacitive, not resistive, ie the screen is not pressure-based, and operates a little like viewing on an iPhone. With sleek lines and large stereo speakers, the S10-3t looks like it was aimed at the media on consumers as much as standard netbook users with this hybrid.

With its sleek, shallow design and curved lines at the edges, there is a lot about the construction of the S10-3t want. Lenovo has a lot of progress made since the IdeaPad S10-2, which we criticized for his less-than-full-size keyboard and bulging battery. No protruding battery bulge in the back, clean edges and an overall size that is slightly larger than the average soft-cover book to make the IdeaPad S10-3t learn and easy to carry around.

There is a slight lip on the back where the battery protrudes a little further off than the screen, but it is hardly noticeable. Glossy, high glossy black plastic surrounding the entire inner and outer cover of the IdeaPad; area of the keyboard on the lower half is bright white, enhanced with a subtle pattern white squares around the wrist rest area. The surface of the keyboard area is dull, and the black white contrast between the upper and lower half is quite attractive. In the overall picture, it reminds us of the Viliv S7 tablet we reviewed last year, but a much better version.

About folded into tablet mode, simply hold the property to translate into a dimension that design does not feel forced. Two respectable stereo speakers add an extra bezel below the screen, but that’s really the S10-3t easier in portrait mode.

On the S10-3t a series of touch-screen-specific applications from a launcher called Natural Touch, including Photo Browser, Media Player and e-book document are readers. These are well designed for use in tablet mode, supported with large icons and multi-touch gestures such as emergency-to-zoom. The idea, however, sound in conception, was nervous to interact in the execution, and slow with our gestures. These applications respond quickly and felt a lot of time, but could also stutter and suffer from occasional slowdown. The iPhone and iPad may not know much about this device in terms of pure touch of fear, but the S10-3T is a much better overall experience than most touch screen tablet PCs we’ve seen lately.

The 10.1-inch LED-backlit glossy widescreen display’s screen on the IdeaPad S10-3t a native resolution of 1024 x600 pixels, which is standard for most netbook screens. On the other hand, many netbooks have been upgraded to conform better to 1364 x 768 pixels, which on most laptop computers and monitors available. With only 600 pixels vertical resolution of many browser windows to end up getting crowded and need extra leaf through it. Video, and text looked sharp on the screen, but we found that black levels, sometimes seems a little, washed depending on the viewing angle because the S10 can 3t its display in any position with the press of a button on the front flip, there are situations where the screen viewing angle seems worse than others. The stereo speakers below the screen, even if flat-sounding speakers are louder than in most netbooks and is ideal for movies in Tablet mode.
