Pre-CES 2010: Freescale Unveils Smartbook Tablet Reference Design

Know very well that the tablet market is soon likely to be dominated by Apple and Google went Freescale before CES 2010 officially announced and was a reference design for their own Smartbook Tablet.

According to a press release to Engadget, the Freescale SmartBook tablet in an ultra-thin form factor and lightweight at 0.8 pounds and will. It is up to 1 GHz processor i.MX515 run with 4 GB to 64 GB of internal memory. It will sport a 7-inch touchscreen display and has one of the following features – microSD card slot, optional WWAN module, Wi-Fi 802.11 n b g, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, USB 2.0 port, audio in out, 3 MP web camera, built-in 3-axis accelerometers and ambient light sensor.

Since this is only a reference design, Freescale hopes this SmartBook tablet for less than $ 200 market. But we are not among them.
