Use a Laptops to Sell Web Design Services
If you run web design business you know how difficult it is now to get new customers. More people are jumping on this boat thinking that they can call themselves web designers. If you have found your company struggling to compete with these so-called web designers you need to do more and think more.
Assuming you are more of a business person than web designer if you are running a business. You have one big advantage over most web designers, and that is you are better at selling your web design service than them. Most web designers are creative people, also known as the right-brain people and they are not trained in business or selling. Now knowing this you can approach people with a laptop and present your work to them! Most web designers won’t do this because they afraid of being rejected, in fact, most people won’t do this! So if you can get over this, you will be the only few people in this group.
Selling your web design service with a laptop is so much easier and more likely to succeed. Why? Because you can present your ideas quickly and professionally. You can show people how their website could look like and work; maybe mockup a page or two so they can click around and see the things in action. Once they are hooked, which they will be if you’ve done your research properly, they will know you are the one – somebody who knows what he’s doing. This works extremely well when you have already put in the effort in making a good presentation and an initial mockup of their website.
With a laptop, you can also show them some examples of your work quickly. Wireless internet is so cheap, which means you can show your clients the work you have done and being able to talk about them as the clients look through them. This is something that not many people can say no to. Of course you need to make sure the client is actually interested in having a website built before approaching them.
By using a laptop in the initial meeting you can win more businesses and save time. You will cut down the needs for many email and phone conversations. Prepare everything in the laptop, give the clients a tour and ask for the sale right away, don’t wait till he/she get back to the office and send you the email.
