Pine Trail-powered Eee PC 1001P due January 6th

The second advantage after ASUS EeePC 1005p, new-generation Intel platform Pine Trail, will be available soon, as a German Amazon listing indicated. The 10.1-inch netbook using the Atom N450 processor at 1.66 GHz, but other details are similar to previous Eee PCs. This means a 160 GB hard drive, 1 GB of RAM and Windows XP in a package that weighs 2.4lbs. In contrast, 1005P Eee PC with Windows 7 Starter Edition.

There is also a slim 4400 mAh battery, which Asus claims will last for up to 11 hours. It is a Wi-Fi connection, but no Bluetooth, but integrates three USB 2.0 ports and a card reader. The product page also promises a typical video inputs and outputs or the 1001P.

The Amazon pre-order page shows begin delivery of the ASUS Eee PC 1001P on 6 January, with prices for either a white or black model to the equivalent of $ 384 is set. There is no word of a North American version, however.
