Enthusiast makes 64-bit build of Google Chrome OS available

Opinions are whether 64-bit value is still divided with difficulty. There is an even bigger question mark on netbooks, where the 32-bit atom prevails. However, there are other netbook models appear with VIA, AMD and Intel are also low-voltage non-nuclear CPUs. And that means someone is stuck in the 64-bit operating system builds on these systems are intended.

Why does not the new kid on the block, Google’s Chrome OS?

Developer Teo En Ming has the Chrome source code compiles and publishes a 64–bit version you can download from his web page.

That seems a bit strange for me. After all, is basically a bootable OS Chrome Web Browser – Surfing and Web pages is not something that usually requires the additional muscular 64-bit processing. It certainly does not require 4GB + memory, either.

But hey, if you are in the selected group of users that can actually those on your netbook – why not go for it? You can get it from a flash drive, after all the running, so there was no real risk involved.
