Sony Vaio X Officially Announced

So finally, after reporting to you about the new models of Sony Vaio P, which emerged in Germany, here is yet another official announcement, this time from Sony UK. Yes folks, the 11.1-inch Sony VAIO X, we told you last week at least the official treatment.

There will be two iterations of the Sony Vaio X, will be available at all Sony outlets, and another exclusively for the Sony Style website. But in general these two Vaio Ps have the following specifications:

  • 11.1-inch widescreen X-black LCD
  • Aluminum carbon fiber design
  • High-Speed Mobile Broadband Wireless WAN everywair
  • 655G and 13.9 mm flat
  • Multi-finger touchpad supports the navigation key, Flick pinch, pinch and zoom gestures
  • 2x USB ports
  • Gigabit Ethernet
  • VGA ports
  • Wi-Fi, Bluetooth
  • Motion Eye Camera

And technical for some more information:

  • Intel Atom Z540 1.8GHz Z550 2Ghz Windows 7
  • 2 GB of RAM
  • 128 GB SSD flash drive
  • Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 500

Best of all, the Sony Vaio X will boast 16 hours of battery life. It is on 22 October.

ASUS UL series notebooks priced, dated for UK

ASUS has recently announced pricing and a release date for its previously announced Unlimited (UL) series of notebooks for the United Kingdom. Two of the three models of marine electronics retail stores in the country on 22 October. These include the 13.3-inch UL30 and two variants of the 15.6-inch UL50, which UL50AG and UL50VG. There is no word on the 14-inch UL80, however. CULVER All three use Intel processors, and some are allegedly up to 12 hours of battery life.

Other common features include a brushed aluminum exterior, which is under an inch thick, integrated Altec Lansing speakers, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections, and a multitouch trackpad, and a webcam. Windows 7 will be the pre-installed operating system on all of them. A 1.3 GHz Core 2 Duo chip CULVER is the standard features on the British system. Hard drives are offered to 500 GB if the default is a 250 GB.

The UL50VG will sport its own graphics processor, the GeForce G 210M. ASUS Power4Gear power management to users of four different sections, including the Turbo Boost, which increases performance by 33 percent compared to the energy-efficient battery saving setting that we were the notebooks on the market of last 12 hours.

The UL50VG is provided free by Carphone Warehouse, when users sign up for a mobile broadband contract will be offered. Pricing and release dates for North America remains unknown, however.
