Pixel Qi Shows Off 2-Mode Outdoor Readable Screens

Pixel Qi Shows Off 2-Mode Outdoor Readable Screens

One of the most frustrating things about mobility is the lack of adequate outdoor screen. Even in a classroom environment, the banks of overhead fluorescent lights glare often a problem. The solution is to provide a matte screen to the glare reflected. Unfortunately I found that matte screens are worse than outdoors, because it is indoors, diffuse light throughout the matte surface. I thought that was something we had to bowl, unless we as much money on an outdoor screen, but even then, the screens are well known in the color inside dull. Pixel Qi seems to have found a perfect balance between indoor color accuracy and outdoor viewability in their upcoming line of 3qi screens. They hope that these screens in Netbook and e-reader in the very near future, in sizes up to 10″. The trick uses Pixel Qi is a backlight, user-controllable. Indoors you crank the backlight on the screen and is like a standard screen, while outdoors, you can use the backlight and the screen works much like a screen ePaper not very visible text in full sunlight. Pixel Qi is already hacked their screen in an Acer Aspire One Netbook to show , as also in the very near future. Pixel Qi will work with its new screen in the upcoming trade shows and I hope that we will be able to take a closer look at this very promising technology.

Sony gives VAIO P options for Windows XP

Sony gives VAIO P options for Windows XP

Sony on Tuesday showed rare conservatism by its VAIO P Netbook an option for Windows XP. The P50 variant, the mini-notebook skip Vista for faster, less demanding older OS, and some trade functions. He loses only to Sony in Windows Media software, but still have access to instant-on OS for media playback and other bases outside of the Microsoft platform. Even when it comes to the storage of at least 60 GB to 80 GB.

Data remains mostly the same on these changes with a 1.33GHz Atom, GPS and access to the NTT DoCoMo FOMA 3G network for data RAM to 1GB seems to be halved to artificial limits on Microsoft XP Netbook. Prices remain virtually in step with the American model for a consideration of $ 895th It is not clear whether Sony will ship the P50 to North America, where it costs less, if so.

Sony also has a few options, the newer technologies. The company gives buyers the choice of a 2GHz atom (from 1.86Ghz) or a 256 GB solid-state drive (from 128 GB). It also has a new champagne gold color option for the outside and leaves the buyer of black models on a color-matching dark brown color on the palm rest and the keyboard. The prices for these are not known.

Apple wants to cut prices, add features to Air

Apple wants to cut prices, add features to Air

If there is one thing to hurt Apple, it’s a real weapon in the Netbook arena. Netbook have on the laptop market is very much in the same way the iPhone blew up the cellular world. However, if you’re thinking cheap and on Macs, which Mini’s $ 600 unless you have a laptop and a $ 1,000 MacBook is easily overlooked, though many manufacturers offer Netbook at half price. With all that in mind, the word on the street is that Apple wants to slash the price of the MacBook Air, so it is a feature-rich, high-end netbook contender with a price of between $ 1,300 to $ 1,500. The new features include integrated support for 3G and SSDs in all models of the air. There is also the possibility that we could see GPS built-in as Apple is working on Geolocation in Snow Leopard edition of OS X, but just how much that it is in the air to see.

Our take? Apple has to move away from the idea of a “high-end netbook.” There is a strong, growing market, and the air having a name for himself early on. The replacement air is not likely to be able to back that momentum, unless Apple finds a way to make the sticker price in half.
