Motion Computing rugged Tablet PC
There are a lot of mobile computers released in the past few months. Even though most of them ultimately more exciting, not because they Netbook with the same properties and similar screen sizes.
Sure, there were a few interesting, but nothing really stands than others. Motion Computing’s new Tablet PC is finally something different, even if it is completely unaffordable for most of us.
The new tablet, called J3400 has a Netbook-esque size with a 12.1-inch screen, but that’s where the familiarity stops. The big claim to fame for this tablet is how stable it is. According to Motion Computing with a 3 foot drop on plywood over concrete, or something that would be a smaller shock. The 1.8-inch-80 or 120 GB hard drive and screen are both shock mounted to the possible. There is also an option for a 64 GB SSD, which would be even safer than the hard drive with acceleration sensors that sense when they fall.
The other figures are up by 1.2 or 1.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB RAM (capable of up to 4 GB), draft-N Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, a 2 MP webcam and the various ports. It comes standard with Vista Business, but it is an XP-downgrade option. Motion Computing claims may be 7.4 hours of battery life with a single charge, which is pretty impressive. Even more impressive is the Qualcomm Gobi module for 3G connectivity.
The J3400 sounds like a pretty good Tablet PC with all functions.
