Lenovo ThinkPad X200t Tablet PC

Today we look at the ThinkPad X200t which, believe it or not, the first widescreen Tablet PC Don ThinkPad name. Based on a 12.1in, 1280 x 800 resolution bears all characteristics of the ThinkPad brand: it’s black, it is decorated in soft-touch plastic and is built like a Roman road.

Because outside of the really Ruggedized notebooks, like the Toughbooks from Panasonic, it’s hard to believe a brand of notebook, so reassuringly sturdy than the ThinkPad. The magnesium-alloy chassis and plastic ensures high quality of each element of the machine is reassuringly stable and robust, while the 360-degree hinge for the screen has a smooth, but be safe.

Nowhere is this quality more apparent when, as in the keyboard. Although the course X200t live or die on the quality of the tablet functionality, when used as a standard notebook keyboard, it will be good. Keys, that company, and positive feeling that the ThinkPad brand, setting the standards that all other laptop keyboards are judged. One thing you will notice, though, is the lack of a touchpad. This, in truth, it seems an odd omission, but there still remains the traditional ThinkPad TrackPoint and associated keys. These are hinged to the ideal tactile feedback, while the button in the middle allows you to share documents with the Track Point. As for the TrackPoint itself, it is ergonomically size and more than accurate enough for regular use on the move, although most likely want to use a mouse, if Deskbound.
