Ovation MC995D USB modem from Novatel Wireless
With the introduction of 3G and HSDPA connections, it is more and more common to see USB modems can be connected in notebooks and Netbook equally,
because not anywhere you need a Wi-Fi hotspot, but at least have you have a higher chance of securing a decent Internet connection using the USB modem.
Novatel Wireless to play in this volume, with its new high-Ovation MC995D USB modem that targets both consumers and enterprise users with a reliable and secure Internet access wherever they are on the leading mobile HSPA data networks. It is currently optimized for Europe, however, although a global modem, is capable of the theoretical download speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 5.76 Mbit s (real world Performance varies significantly, so beware of marketing claims). It comes in an ultra slim form factor and has a swivel-lock design, with FCC SAR requirements. The MC995D comes with an auto-install Connection Manager for easy setup and Nice playing with Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems. You can also use them in an improvised USB Flash Drive thanks to a microSDHC memory card slot that can hold up to 32GB of storage space. There is no word on pricing, but we know that the MC995D will sometime in the 2nd Quarter of 2009.
