Google bans word “netbook” from its ad network

Unless you live under a rock, you already have a Netbook. Netbook is one of the only bright spots in the computer industry in the midst of the current poor global economy. The Netbook market, posting a strong growth as the movement of other more expensive laptops and desktops are slumping.

Psion has been more than a year that marks the computers should not be confused with the term “Netbook” to generally describe the small, inexpensive systems, which we now know and love. The reason is that there seems Psion owns the trademark for the word “Netbook” and has a machine with this name.

Psion has a battle in the effort to prevent its brand to generic form with Google knows that the word was banned, its Adsense advertising network. These ads are the ones you see on almost every website has the text and links to purchase the products. If we do not call the little machines Netbook, what we call them? Mini laptops? Perhaps from the Latin, Lapitopus minimus?
