Dell Mini 10 netbook limited to 1GB of RAM
After the Direct2Dell blog, Dell mini 10 “packs a punch,” but that is not in relation to the maximum allowed RAM. It turns out that the Mini 10 will be “fixed 1GB of RAM, which means that you can not decide to make it at a later date. The reason for the 1 GB on shipping through the Netbook licensing requirements that they are with Microsoft. This is understandable, but they are not required to determine the RAM.
Admittedly, Windows XP or Ubuntu for this question is (in most cases) well with 1 GB of RAM, but why limit you if you do not, especially if a RAM upgrade is so cheap nowadays. I upgrade my Eee PC 1000h with 2 GB of RAM for under $ 30. Personally, if you have a 10-inch Netbook, which is basically a large reason for the mini 10 and look to another manufacturer like Asus or Acer.
