MSI Formally Announces U115 Hybrid Storage Netbook
MSI has officially their latest hybrid U115 Netbook. It comes with two components of memory (SSD + regular HDD) within the 10 “design. It is capable of on both SSD x26 HDD simultaneously. The regular OS operation is done on the SSD, while the hard drive can be used for additional memory. This will lead to an improvement in battery life and a better performance excerpt from the Netbook.
Pressing the “Eco Mode” button activates Hybrid Storage Technology and the hybrid-U115 will temporarily disconnect the HDD system.
Data as of MSI U115 hybrid is powered by Intel Menlow platform (1.6 GHz Atom Z530 processor + chipset Poulsbo US15W). Other features are – up to 2 GB of DDR2 RAM, 10 “1024 x 600 LED-backlit LCD, 2MP webcam, 3 6 cell battery, 4-in-1 card reader, optional 802.11n WiFi + Bluetooth and other regulars. Even more important is that you can assume that the MSI U115 hybrid shipping with combinations of 8GB 16GB with 120GB 160GB SSD 2.5 “SATA hard disk.
Still no word on pricing and availability. With CES just around the corner, the wait will not be long.
